This pre-requisite allows for the overall assessment of the client’s digital maturity. The purpose is to explore the possibilities to acquire data, measure processes, and identify opportunities for improvements.
Led by a director or principal engineer, this first assessment is primordial to define the next steps towards complete digitization and improvements of processes.
The digital maturity assessment can be done in a day for a small process or facility to about a month spent on site, depending on the scope and size of operations, followed by the redaction of a report then reviewed with the client’s stakeholders.
The ability to connect the Vitesse Gateway to the operational software is the primary focus of this step, so that the data can be gathered or transformed in a fashion that is easily utilized to extract analytics. Tools and practices can also be included in the scope of study. In case of analog operations, the result of the assessment typically leads to the first possible steps to digitize operations and start gathering data automatically, as part of a digital transformation strategy.
